Of wooden core coated in black and a surface coating of orange lacquer, this lacquer tray is of rare shape with a double cavetto, the orange lacquer in.excellent condition with only the edges worn to show the black beneath. Marked beneath with a single orange lacquer kanji character above a triangle symbol. 3cm high, 23cm diameter. Together with an early inscribed Japanese wooden box with an early 20th century Osaka Bijutsu Club auction label affixed to one side.
