Of generous proportions in earthenware covered in a rich black iron glaze, with an impressed seal beside the foot. 8.5cm high, 12.5cm diameter. Together with a sealed cotton wrapping cloth and tomobako. The lid inscribed by Horiuchi Sokan and named "Gansho" which refers to a pine tree that takes root upon a rugged cliff or rock, symbolising a spirit that stands firm amidst harsh and changing conditions.
