Ko-Imari Ninsei style fan-shaped dish

Edo Period (1603-1868), c. 1690-1700

Moulded in the form of two overlapping fans, very finely decorated in the style of Nonomura Ninsei (exact dates unknown but approximately 1640s - 1690s) in overglaze enamels with a very finely painted landscape and flying geese to the interior, and an assymetrically applied shippo pattern representing clouds above, the rim dressed with brown enamel. 2.5cm high, 17cm wide. Condition: two shallow chips to the rim.
