Ming Dynasty, Tianqi Period (1620-1627)

Delicately moulded in the form of a recumbent boar, raised on three feet, the interior exceptionally finely painted, the underside with moulded details of the face, feet and tail in relief.  3.5cm high, 17.25cm wide.  Cat. 532

For a set of mukozuke of similar design to this dish, see accession number 2014-00474 in the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore.

Condition report (carefully viewed under UV, strong light and magnification): very minor fritting to the rim and to the raised moulded details on the underside in some small areas (production/firing flaw).
