Ming Dynasty, Tianqi Period (1620-1627)


Beautifully decorated with two characterful cockerels squaring off under a pine tree beneath the sun, with grasses in the foreground.  3.4cm high, 21.25cm diameter.  Together with a Japanese wooden box.  Cat. 106

Condition report (carefully viewed under UV, strong light and magnification): extensive fritting around the rim, one frit/glaze pop and scattered kiln grit to the interior (production/firing flaws).
