17. Set of five crane and pine dishes

Jingdezhen, China

Ming Dynasty, Tianqi (1620-1627) or Chongzhen (1627-1644) Period

Each dish finely decorated with a crane with stretched wings under a gnarled pine tree beneath the moon shrouded in clouds.  Each approximately 2.5cm high, 15cm diameter.  Together with a Japanese wooden box.  Cat. 120

Condition report (carefully viewed under UV, strong light and magnification): each dish with extensive fritting around the rim, and one with a short firing crack to the interior. (production/firing flaws).  One dish with a warped rim.
